To submit your work to Iris, please see our Submittable portal.
General:
Submissions will be accepted through the Iris Submittable portal.
We accept multiple submissions per person, but request that you separate them by genre (prose, poetry, art).
We welcome submissions from those who have been previously published in Iris.
We consider previously published work.
We ask that you include any relevant content warnings.
We require your full name, phone number, and JMU email with each submission.
Iris has an anonymized evaluation process, including for submissions from members of the Iris staff, which we welcome.
Iris does not retain publication rights, nor offer financial compensation to artists and authors.

We require work to be double spaced and in Times New Roman 12 point font unless manipulation of fonts and/or spacing is important to the piece.

Please submit prose pieces in separate documents per piece in a single email.
We will accept PDF files only.

We count series or sequences of poems as 1 submission.
We accept 5 poems or fewer, totaling no more than 10 pages.
Please submit poems in a single document in a single email.
We will accept PDF files only.
